Emma Katherine is an 18-year-old trans woman living in Dane County, Wisconsin. With the help of Trans Law Help Wisconsin, Inc., Emma Katherine was able to change her name and gender marker on all of her state and federal documents. As she looks forward to starting her adult life, she wants to help make sure that financial barriers don’t prevent others from accessing the court system.

The Emma Katherine Micro-Grant Program was seeded by Emma Katherine’s family. To date, two additional large donations of $1,500 and $2,500 have enabled the program to begin taking applications as of February 22, 2025. We are also seeking grant opportunities to make sure that this program remains a resource for low-and middle-income Wisconsinites.
